10 best Date Paste recipe

Date paste is a natural sweetener and a great alternative to sugar in many recipes. It’s an excellent choice for people who enjoy eating sweet desserts but should not eat sugar, especially people with diabetes. Therefore, adding date paste instead of sugar to recipes can make them more enjoyable with a distinctive flavor and healthier for more people.
This post focuses on cooking and baking with date paste by introducing a few date paste recipe ideas.


Before starting on the date paste recipes, I should mention that they are not absolute. All we try to do here is suggest date paste as a healthy substitute for sugar.

1. Date Paste Muffins Recipe

  • Date paste: 300 grams (1 cup)
  • Honey: 1 tbsp (optional)
  • Almond flour: ½ cup
  • Milk: ½ cup
  • Coconut flour: 3 tbsp
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • Salt: ¼ tsp
  • Baking powder: 1 tsp
  • Coconut oil (melted): 3 tbsp
  • 2 large eggs
  • Nuts (chopped): ½ cup
  • Muffin liners: 7 or 8

Instructions for making date paste muffins 

This date paste recipe takes less than an hour to complete. 

Preheat the oven to 177°C or 350° F for 10 minutes before including the ingredients. Line the muffin pan with muffin liners. Or make sure the muffin pan is well greased if you don’t use muffin liners.

Step one

Mix the almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt (Flour Mixture) in a large pan. Combine the milk, vanilla extract, and oil (Wet Mixture) in a smaller pan.

Step two

Add the wet mixture to the flour mixture and stir until it is well combined. This is your muffin batter.

Step three

Add two eggs and date paste to the bowl and mix thoroughly until it gets smooth.

Step four

Fill the muffin liners (in a muffin pan) with the muffin batter. Sprinkle the muffins with the topping of choice (such as chopped pistachios or gluten-free granola).

Step five

Put the muffin pan in the oven and let it bake for 30 minutes.

2. Cookies with Date Paste

  • Blanched almond flour: ½ cup
  • Date paste: ½ cup
  • Baking soda: ½ tsp
  • Nut butter: ¼ cup
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • Sea salt: ¼ tsp
  • Dark chocolate: 1/3 cup
  • Raw sugar (optional) for topping

Instructions for making cookies with date paste

This date paste recipe takes about half an hour.

Step one

Preheat the oven to 177°C or 350° F for 10 minutes. 

Step two

Stir almond flour, baking soda, nut butter, and date paste with a wooden spoon or in a bowl or a blending machine to combine the ingredients thoroughly until the batter is thick. 

Step three

Add salt, chocolate, and chopped nuts (optional) to the mixture and mix again. 

Step four

Make small balls (golf size) of this mixture. Roll each into the sugar (optional). Then press it down to become flat. You will have up to 10 cookies after this step.

  • Date paste: 300 grams
  • Brown rice flour: ½ cup
  • Sea salt: ½ tsp
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • Baking soda: ¼ tsp

  • Cashew butter: 1 cup
  • Molasses: 2 tbsp

Step one

Fill a bowl with warm water and place goji berries in it for 5 minutes to soften.

This cheesecake with date paste recipe needs at least one night to prepare and another night to chill the cakes.

Step one

Soak the cashews in a bowl filled with water. Let it soak overnight to become smooth.

Step two

Use a food processor and blend the crust ingredients mentioned above. Blend with high speed so the nuts and dates are chopped and mixed well.

Step three

Put 3 spoons of the mixture in each section of a muffin tin. Press down the mixture to create a firm crust layer.

Step four

Use the food processor again to make the filling mixture. Blend all the filling ingredients until it gets a smooth consistency. It may take 5 minutes till the filling is ready.

Step five

Use the spoon to put the filling on top of the crust layer. Three spoons of this mixture will be enough for each layer.

Step six

Put the cheesecake in the refrigerator and leave it overnight. If you don’t have time,  let it stay in the freezer for at least 2 hours. Remove it from the freezer and leave it at room temperature for 10 minutes.

The cheesecakes are ready.

  • Date paste: 1 ½ cups
  • Oat flour: 1 cup
  • Almond flour: 6 tbsp

Step one

Preheat the oven to 350 F/ 175 C for 5 minutes.

Step two

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

Step three

Add milk, apple cider vinegar, and pumpkin puree slowly to the bowl and mix until combined.

Step four

Blend date paste into the mixture. You may need to use your hand or a processor in this step.

Step five

Take the can of coconut milk out of the refrigerator and open it. You can also use coconut cream instead. 

Step fou

Using a spoon, remove the harder white thick layer (coconut cream layer) from the top and mix it with the date paste and cocoa powder using a hand or stand blender until light and fluffy.

Step five

Layer this mixture in cups. Start with the peanut butter parfait layer and end with the chocolate coconut cream layer, making 3 layers of each. Make sure the cup is big enough to have room for chocolate coconut cream.

Top with cacao nibs

  • Potato starch: ¼ cup

  • Coconut milk: ½ cup

Step one

Preheat the oven to 350 F for 5 to 10 minutes. 

Step two

Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl (flour mixture).

Melt the dark chocolate in another bowl and mix it with coconut butter. You can use the microwave for 30 seconds to melt the chocolate. Check to see if the chocolate has been melted enough. You may need to put it in the microwave for another 10 seconds. Don’t rush this step; you may burn the chocolate if you heat it more than it needs.

Step four

Add the melted chocolate and date paste to the flour mixture and whip with a hand mixer or a food processor. Add vanilla extract and continue mixing.

Step five

Line the muffin tins with baking cups and place large spoonfuls of the batter into each cup.
