Description:

If you favor healthy delicious snacks you should try this recipe. It is really easy!

Ingredients:

  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups quick cooking oats
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cups date paste

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees C and butter a 20-by-20-by-5-cm baking pan.
  2. Combine flour, outs, brown sugar and baking soda and blend the mixture with your fingers until it looks like crumbs.
  3. Transfer two-third of the mixture into the baking pan you prepared earlier and press into bottom and the sides.
  4. Spread date paste over the mixture and cover with the remaining crumbs.
  5. Bake 35 minutes until they are golden brown.
  6. Let the pan cool down, invert onto a plate then invert back. Cut into 5-cm pieces.

Store the date squares in an airtight container.
